ABOUT

Welcome! The Grau Laboratory, led by Dr. James Grau, explores neurotrauma, pain, and plasticity, or in other words, the effect of pain on recovery after injury to the spinal cord. Key research suggests that this pain is detrimental to recovery, and current projects seek to better understand the underlying cellular processes and associated behavioral effects, as well as potential treatment options to alleviate them. Please explore our website to learn more about past and present research, current members of our lab, and opportunities to become involved.

Currently funded by the Neilsen Foundation, the Department of Defense, and the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke
